new carpet and our garden

We don't have much for a back yard yet but we did get our garden built and planted a few weeks ago. It is coming along nicely. We should be picking tomatoes, zucchini, beets, spinach, lettuce, peppers and cucumbers in the coming weeks.

This is the first chili pepper I have ever grown.

We have been in our new home almost 6 months and we are replacing the cheap garbage carpet installed by the builder. We purchased our home past the time when we could pick things like carpet, tile, and other finishing touches. From the first day when we vacuumed and had to dump the canister 2 or 3 times before we finished one room we knew the carpet was terrible. After complaining and finally convincing them to send out a quality guy our carpet was found to be faulty. Monte was happy to say "I told you so." We then had to convince them to allow us to upgrade the carpet, which wasn't too hard. Thursday and Friday were crazy days, moving furniture, boxing up breakables then moving it all back. The carpet is similar in color to our old yucky stuff but much nicer on the feet.

The finished product
