This and That

Days like this would be the reason people live in Arizona. As the dreaded summer looms even closer Arizonians seem to forget how beautiful it is the other 10 months of the year. Monte and I went for a walk Saturday night, we got about 10 feet from the front door when we saw the neighbors across the street and ended up roasting marshmallows with them. They had their tent set up for a camp out in the back yard. When it got dark we started across the street and got visiting with our newest neighbors around the corner. He is originally from Jamaica (Monte wanted to ask him if he'd ever met Sanka) but has been living in AZ for quite sometime. He was good to give us a lesson on how to survive the summer heat and what to expect. We now know the most energy efficient way to run our AC, what to do in a dust storm, tips for landscaping our back yard and the all import rule, Never go anywhere without a bottle of water in the car or in your hand.

Sunday was a perfect day. After being fed spiritually as well as physically we took some lawn chairs to the front porch and visited while Kayden and Karson performed tricks on the bike.

This picture makes the bike look way too small for Karson

Working on is 180

...still at it.

We have 3 hibiscus plants in the front yard. They are just starting to bloom. We watched this flower close as the sun went down. I'm still amazed to think I live where these beautiful flowers can grow. I'd only ever seen a hibiscus plant in moms bay window.
