My last hike in the Canadian Rockies was up to Bertha Lake then a 4 k trek around the lake. It was an unusually calm day in the mountains. Bertha Falls is a quick jaunt up the mountain, then you go up from there. About 2.5 k up. When I say up I mean UP. After we reached our destination Wendy and I decided to go around the lake. Being at higher elevation meant the Bear Grass was still in bloom around the lake. We walked through meadows full of bear grass. It was a beautiful pristine day
