Enjoy

December 5, 2011

Well me and dad have a lot of things in common I also recently ran a red light however being a servant of the lord has its perks no ticket so no problems ha but it was kinda an interesting ordeal in doing it ha. I bet dad did enjoy his driving class and I believe that’s 2 of the 5 men in the Kartchner family that have had to do such a course. I believe Brett also took a safety driving course luckily though I’m too good of a drive to have to worry about such.

This week was kinda a let down I guess I may have possibly gotten sick because of some bad eggs I ate so I was kinda down for the count for about 2 and a half days luckily a bottle of pepto later and I’m feeling fairly chipper. I was able to see the Christmas devotional and it was rather enjoyable if I can say the least I liked the talks and the video was rather good even though I thought the angel was Jesus that came to Mary and I thought they were skippin a few chapters in the story but I finally clued in that it was just a heavenly messenger.

I did have a very interesting experience though this week. I finally got my hair cut my fo hawk was reaching to my eyebrows if I pulled the peek down so I figured it was time so being the poor missionary I am that had to result to eating bad eggs I decided to try the hair school for a hair cut. Lo and behold my one fear was realized as I sat in wait for 2 hours while the 60 different little white haired ladies sat getting perms. I was assigned to the 6ft 2 350 pound black man that looked like he had just got out of prison to give me a hair cut this guy had tattoos all up his neck and arms and one on his forehead reading "I KILLED MY MOTHER" on it I was frankly frightened by this man. As I sat down on the chair he grabbed a comb and started to run it through my hair because I had styled it that morning and he was getting it ready to trim. My hair was a little solid and his combing was causing me to get whip lash and my head was slammed against the chair and then whipped back into the mirror in front there was no mercy in this mans hands. I told him that I wanted a 2 on the side with a fo hawk on the top and I ended up getting a 2 on the side 3 on the top and no questions asked. I was not about to argue with this giant who could have crushed me like a bug All I could do was say its a thing of sheer beauty and continue on my way lucky to be alive. No wonder its only 5.50 for a hair cut there.

That was pretty much my most eventful experience of the week due to my somewhat self induced sickness I mean the Eggs only expired on the 14th of November and I couldn’t smell nothing bad. I was later informed to check if they floated so with the 5 remaining eggs I put them in a pot of water and only one floated so I figured they were good and finished the rest but that’s the life of a missionary water with cereal and don’t complain when your given food it’s a lot like prison.

I have not heard to much about Leon since I left I’ve asked a few times and everyone says that he hasn’t been at church since I left so I don’t know if his work schedule changed or what but hopefully he’s still doing ok his kids are going to scouts though so hopefully that will keep him in contact with the church.

I found out that my camera is going to be covered by the warranty so hopefully I get it back soon. They’re working on it as we speak so hopefully I get it soon I’m kinda mad because I’m going to be sitting on the National Guard Chopper built by OCC tomorrow and I don’t have a camera luckily my faithful companion does and I’ll be able to get a pic with me and my future style of ride. But other than that there is nothing really too big coming up that’s planed were going to have to delay the baptism a week I believe because we haven’t been able to get back with Lynn in a while but I think it should go through after only a week delay so here’s to hoping, but I hope everyone is doing well and I’ll hear from you soon I only have 600 days left on this crazy train kinda strange eh.

Love
Elder Kartrchner
