Monte and I went on a hike Saturday. It wasn't what I'd call a short hike, 7.5 miles but it was more going around the mountain then up and over. We went to Usury Park and decided to do the Pass Mountain trail which goes around the same mountain we climbed with Brad at Thanksgiving. We decided to take the trail north...when we got the the head of the nameless mountain and started east the scenery changed to a breath taking view. When we were headed south you could see Apache Junction and East Mesa. By the time we were headed west we were thinking 7 miles is a long way to go on rough ground. It was a beautiful way to spend the morning. We are hoping to hike Camelback in a couple weeks.

The beginning.

The gorgeous view!

That is on big cactus.

This little guy looked so puffy and prickly!

Monte taking a break in the shade!

Thousands of cactus spotting the desert.
