Quail Hunting

Bright and early Saturday morning Monte and the boys went on a quail hunt in the desert. They had an awesome time. Monte and Kayden manned the camera, Kayden took a picture of the ugly lizard under the brush, they also tried prickly pear fruit. Karson was able to kill a couple quail and Kayden found a new friend, a horny toad. When they told me he caught a horny toad, I thought it was an actual toad but after seeing the pictures I realized it is a type of lizard. We had to locate the tweezers when they returned home because everyone had a thorn in their feet or fingers. The desert can be a dangerous place. They had a great time together and look forward to sleeping in tomorrow, our church time has changed to 1:00, so we have more room in the building for our ever growing ward. It is also stake conference tomorrow, our ward has been assigned the 1:00 time slot. It is a broadcast conference, I'm not sure where from.

The landscape is so different from Alberta. Looks like fun. Today we went to Sunday dinner. Your mother has her entire collection of Christmas decorations and outside lights up. We razzed her pretty bad. I'll have to take a picture next time I'm there so you can be reminded. She added some new outside stuff again this year. At least the weather has been so mild that she was able to put everything up while not wearing a jacket. When I'm out in -30 putting up my lights, I guess she'll be the one laughing!
