December 3, 2012

Well the week went pretty swell I guess I cant say that we had a plethora of appointments but we had a fairly good amount. We were able to teach some new investigators that we just got which was nice its always good to fill the ol wading pool and get the feet a wee bit wet.

We were also able to teach Jason this week which was nice we went over and read Alma 32 with him and described his journey to build faith like the example of the seed. He’s learning and seeing improvement in his life and noticing that the gospel is helping the change so its always fun and inspiring to go and teach him and hear of the blessings that he receives from the gospel.  It seems to him that the greatest blessing is being at peace and having someone to talk to about his problems when they come up and not just relying on himself and his own strength.

We went over and mowed Nancy’s lawn again for the last time kinda more as the clean up picking up all the leaves and making everything look good for the snow that I’m not to sure about when its going to come because its like 60 out today so its still warmish and its dec 3. But Nancy went on a cruise and she stopped in Jerusalem while she was there and she thought of us and decided that she would get us a souvenir and I guess the best thing to get from Jerusalem for a couple mormon missionaries is a wooden cross with a little metal Jesus glued on to it that was blessed by the pope. So yeah I have a nice cross from Jerusalem now which is pretty sick and its blessed by the pope so its pretty lucky. But I’m just glad that she thought of us and that were able to remain in her mind and while the kenleys start teaching her she will have the change of heart and have a desire to enter the waters of baptism.

But I did a little experimenting this sunday before the christmas devotional. I was wanting something sweet and couldn’t find anything but I did find some Pillsbury biscuits and some butter and honey and cinnamon and sugar and nutmeg so I decided to just kinda put the biscuits out cover um in cinnamon sugar nutmeg and a square of butter and then put on some honey.  They actually turned out pretty good kinda like a low end quality monkey bread but it took care of the sugar kick and kept me from running to turkey hill for a snickers or something and breaking the Sabbath.

So interesting thing happen that I just found out. Apparently since they shortened the time in the MTC by a week they need to change the time of transfers so in march there is going to be a 5 week transfer instead of the regular 6 so that everything can get back in order and due to this my mission is getting cut short a week so I’ll be coming home on June 19 rather then the 26 which means if you do the math and carry the one I have 197 days left so I kinda missed my 200 day mark. So yeah just a little tidbit of info that I found interesting. Oh it also means that I’m going to be short of a 2 year mission by 3 days so yeah thats pretty cool and if really I wanted to go even deeper we could bring in the fact that I was here on a leap year and all that good stuff but I don’t really want to get into that math and all that other good stuff so it suffiseth me to say that I shall leave it at 197 days to go crazy how time flies.

But things as always are going good here I will be on exchange pretty much the whole week so elder Leavitt is going to be manning the area so hopefully that works out well I have faith in him. And if he doesn’t do so well it appears that my next week will be a week of clean up but I have faith in the boy. But love you all and I will talk at yall later.
