April 22, 2013

Well things are just going peachy here in the beaver valley ward the weather is getting nice the trees are getting leaves the grass is always green here we have tulips and daffodils poking up out of the dirt so things are on the grow. We had a pretty good week here though a few set backs but other then that nothing to major so I cant really complain that much. We were able to see Tony a few times this week and talk with him and he seems to be doing good still got a ways to go but its like the Johnny Cash song I got it one piece at a time.  It’ll take a while but slowly the pieces are coming together. We were able to get a new investigator from a LA lady that we found a few weeks ago its her 9 year old grand son that lives with her. were hoping that through him we will be able to get him baptized and her to come back to church.

Elder Greenwood and I went to Cranberry on Wed for district meeting that turns out wasn’t until Friday and no one decided to tell us so we stopped at the good will to look for records quickly and while we were there we had 2 people come up and start talking to us asking about the church and the trinity and all sorts of the usual. It was good to be able to share a little bit but it almost got us kicked out of goodwill which I wasn’t aware was possible so that was fun.

Elder Greenwood and I helped a crippled old man put up some cupboards in his garage in the basement it was a pretty easy job except for it seems that every one that’s old in PA has enough stuff to fill a garage. We were putting the shelves onto cinderblock walls so we were using a nail gun that uses a .22 caliber shell for the propellent. The cinder block must have been filled with cement because the nails were 3 inch long and we were probably only sinking them 2 1/2 inches in and I know that it wasn’t the back of the cupboard that was putting up the fight.

But things are going good here we have a state wide service project going on this saturday which we’re happy to be apart of in our area so were taking Tony with us which will be good for when you are in the service of your fellow man ye are only in the service of your god. But things are going good and they will keep on keeping on. Love ya’ll and look forward to hearing from you next week.

love

Elder Kartchner
