Textured Walls + Flat Paint = %!&*#$%

When you move into a Brand New Home one would think it would be totally finished...not so. We have had to add lighting in all the bedrooms, family room and loft as well as fans on the back deck. The walls were "painted" so they say. It has taken me 15 months but I have now repainted every room in the house (don't look in the closets) and cursed the flat paint and textured walls every step of the way.

Most of the house was painted by Christmas last year but I hadn't done our master bedroom, we have never had new bedroom furniture, some was old, some was given to us and some was purchased from garage sales. I had painted it so it didn't look too horrible. I have been looking for bedroom furniture for quite sometime, looking on the internet, on craigslist and in stores. I have had money put away for awhile now but hated to part with it until I found something I love. It takes me a long time to find those items, I don't have a lot of confidence in my judgment sometimes. I have seen lots of really beautiful furniture but was never sure if it was what I wanted. How I wish I was an interior decorator. Last week I found a dresser at "the potato barn" that I actually loved, and was a price I loved even more. There was also a cordinating one that Monte though would be awesome. The only problem was the headboard / footboard. I liked the one there but wasn't convinced it was what I wanted. (I kind of didn't know what I wanted). The lady there told me of a place that had cool headboards so Monte and I jumped in the car Friday night and drove to "Gerbers" arriving just after 6pm, they closed at 6 but the owner was still there and told us to come in. There in the catalog was the head board I loved, didn't know it was what I was looking for but I loved it. The comforted was found at JCPenny website, so it was time to paint.

Everytime I paint these textured walls with flat paint it makes me crazy, but I am now done. Next time should be a lot easier.

I will post pictures when the furniture arrives, if all looks good.
