Well another week has come to an abrupt halt so that I could email home and enjoy the life of ultimate Frisbee. But everything is going well here the weather is hot and humid and I got the joy of riding on a 12 mile bike ride followed by an 8 mile walk so I'm doing just lovely. I’m eating well here I make most of my bfast and lunches and usually we have a dinner appointment. The members are good out here but I’m yet to get a roast beef dinner but I did have a shrimp stirfry with deep fried clams yesterday that was good. Their aren’t any mosquitoes here which is lovely however we do have fireflies everywhere and they tend to make you think you just got knocked in the head a time or two when your looking out into a field. I keep discovering that Brett is making way to much money off our labours I mean he gets a raise after the company discovers that he hired a perfect construction specimen like myself and I get nothing. We put in his floors and now we do his yard all I know is when I get a house there had better be no whining and complaining when I call for his help.

Well I finally got the package you sent to the MTC on Friday when the mission prez came and did his interviews. Some how the cookies were still good, don’t know how that worked but it did, must have been one inspired zip lock all I can guess. You should be getting the CD in AZ by Monday some time and if your looking for me doing work you might be disappointed its pretty much just us fooling around. I’ve had an interesting week this last week basically for starters last Monday I was on exchange in the evening so we went out tracting. We were tracting for a while and it started to down pour and we just kept on going. We were having no luck with anyone wanting to talk to us but we kept on trying. We finally knock on this one door and this short stout well fat I guess is the word guy steps out and kinda does the usual no I don’t want to hear your message thing. He gets completely out of the door and starts talking to us and says the only way he would let us in is if for 15 min we shared our message and then after he could tell us why our religion is a heiracy. A little surprised I kinda chuckled a little luckily I had a smart companion that jumped in and said that we didn’t want to argue with him cuz I probably would a started bashin with him but that would have been utterly useless. But as we were leaving he said he was probably going to vote for the guy that goes to our church though so we just laughed again. However across the street from that guy’s house we met Tim who said he didn’t really have a strong faith and we talked for a while and got his info and the Elders in that area are going to stop by his house. Kinda sucks every time I meet someone cool I’m on exchange in someone else’s area and I just get the elders their people.

But the best experience of the week was defiantly on Tues when I did my bike ride. It was the end of the day and I was tired and out of cards to hand out and I didn’t really want to knock on the last door we were going to do but after a few moments I did anyway. No one came when I knocked the first time so I did the usual second nock. No one came so my companion handed me a card and I put it in the door I turn around and go to walk off when this college girl answers the door. I turn around and start giving the spiel about who we are and what we do. She seemed interested so I started talking about the first vision and she said she had been wondering if something like that had ever happened and she said it made sense. A little shocked at her interest and understanding we gave her a BOM and I read her the promise in moroni 13: 3-5 or maybe its mormon I aint on top of it right now. She said she like how it said to ask and to do it boldly she said she was going out of town for a couple weeks but would be back on so and so date so the elder in that are got her info and their going to stop back in a while and hopefully she will have done some reading. But it’s kinda funny how it’s usually the last door that you don’t want to knock on that gives you the best results. But not much else has happened here so I’ll talk to you all later and hope your doing well.

Love Elder Kartchner

Oh PS I’m apparently serving in an area where the Hartleys served like Travis's grandparents and everyone’s curious as to how they’re doing so if you could let me know that would be nice.
