Some thoughts from Monte's letter

I wanted to add a portion from the letter Elder Kartchner wrote his dad. Some is repetitive but there is also some guidance.

Well this week has been well and I'm glad to hear that it was for you too. We were able to get Leon and his two kids to church this Sunday and he liked it I was a little worried when we talked on the spirit world in elders quorum but he liked it apparently and he told his mother about it so that was good. I was thinkin the whole time we've lost him now it was a good run but we lost him. After church he said he would be back next week with his wife hopefully so I hope to see that happen. The area I'm in is kinda a poor area really, there are good richer areas but there mostly in other areas in the district. We cover the projects and some other areas that are a little risky lookin. I'm a little concerned though mom didn't write me this week but probably just an oversight so I'll send a big letter to her with all the news from the area so that she can give it to everyone. (oops I wrote just sent it to the wrong email address...luckily I got it resent before he left the computer)

I found this scripture when I finished the BOM for the first time this week and it made me think of pres Uchdorfs talk about the town with the statue of the savior that lost its hands and they put a plaque up saying we are his hands. We are in the tabernacle of clay and we must become his hands and do what he wants us to do so that we can form the clay to the way that he wants it that's kinda all I got so hopefully its spiritual enough.

Moroni 9:6 And now, my beloved son, notwithstanding their hardness, let us labor adiligently; for if we should cease to blabor, we should be brought under condemnation; for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God.

Elder Kartchner
