Well another week has come and gone in Chambersburg Pennsylvania and possibly one of the last weeks I'll be here depending on what happens for transfers this coming week. In all the week itself wasn't to interesting we didn't have any amazing lessons or any people begging to be baptized but this Sunday was pretty much awesome so that's all I'll talk about today.

Well this Sunday we were able to get 5 investigators to church a new record for me beating last weeks record by 3. At church was our best investigator so far and probably like one of the coolest people I've met Leon and his son. PS I just figured out why I like Leon so much hes just a skinny Black Monte pretty much very child like in his faith and is devoted to jogging every night plus he shaves his head its kinda freaky when I really think about it. We also had a new investigator that we found while walking named Melody. We basically just talked to her for like 5 min and invited her to church and she said yes. We have an appointment with her today at 11 so hopefully shes still solid. We also had Jeffery this older guy that we found did a lesson and said he would come not too sure how solid he is but he stayed for the 3 hours. And finally an investigator we actually picked up at church Jim Pope who was apparently a previous and someone who wants to be baptized just got to get him over that whole smoking thing that it seems everyone does out here. Church actually went really well this Sunday had a homecoming talk that basically praised the book of mormon and hopefully got our investigators to have a desire to read it more and then our stake prez hurley spoke and it had Leon laughing because of a story about him wanting a foot long sub that was half baked chicken and half turkey and the lady behind the counter saying sir thats two 6 inch. If you would have heard it you would find it insightful later on but since ya aint you probably wont get jack squat out of it.

However I guess I should tell you of the Saturday before church a little. We saw Leon for about 30 mins Saturday night just to make sure he was still going to make it to church and to see if he had any questions. He had a few which we answered cuz were pretty much just awesome but then he said something that was really cool he said that he would never in all his life forget Elder Stewart and I. He said that since he met us his life has gotten better than he could believe and that he didn't know what it was but we had something that he didn't or that we knew something that he didn't. At that point I decided that it was time for a baptism invite. I told him that the difference was the holy ghost and that the only way to get it is to be baptized and confirmed by the proper authority. He said that he would be but we haven't set a date he still wants to learn a little more so hopefully next week we will have a day set for him. But driving home from talking to him I had the idea to have the Aveys (a family in our ward the dad is the 1st councilor) invite Leon to there big breakfast that they do and to watch conference Sunday morning. So I talked to them at church and wouldn't you know he accepted the invite so were going to be watching conference with Leon and his family (hopefully) Sunday morning and with any luck be able to go to the priesthood session with him. And funny enough over in this part of the country the priesthood session goes from 8 to 10 so whoopie a late night for ol Kartchy.

But time is short with our appointment being at 11 today we have to hurry so this is sadly a shorter email but I love you all and wish you well and say that Kayden is probably the most spoiled kid I know I only got like 1 birthday party my whole life and I probably didn't get half the gifts. But whatever I'll be more blessed then him for my trials and tribulations but again I love you all.

Love
Elder Kartchner

(I have no clue why the first and last paragraph looks so funky...and I can't seem to fix it) (okay weird, when I preview the post the paragraphs look crazy but on the actual post they look fine) Also I forgot to bring my camera cord so unfortunately I wont be posting any pics of my life in Cardston for the next two weeks. I guess you can look forward to an overload of posts when I get back to AZ.

This letter made me laugh out loud, I love this kid and miss his humor but I'm glad his personality shows in the letters he writes. In regards to the "spoiled" child spiel he may be right about having less parties, not sure where the "less gifts" comes from. Kayden has said similar things to me about Karson...he is sure he is the spoiled one. I think they are both right!
