Monte and I along with our great friends Lorin and Wendy took a trip to Mexico. They ask us to go on a trip often but it finally felt like the right time to go on another great adventure.
Our flights to and from were a little ridiculous but we made it both ways "barely".
Lorin and Wendy spent a year living in Merida with their family so Cancun was semi familiar territory for them.
We stayed at a beautiful resort and traveled around a bit to get a feel for Mexico.
Some how the pics are a little out of order and I can't seem to get them to move.
On our way to the resort half way between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen.
The beautiful ocean Monte with our dear friends Lorin and Wendy.
We followed this truck full of pineapple from Cancun almost to our resort.
When I took the pic I didn't realize he'd slowed down for a police check point.
Lunch in Playa Del Carmen Wendy and I shared a chicken fajita and drank a delicious juice made from hibiscus flowers.
Thought Kayden would enjoy this VW.
Ruins at Tulum.
Base of the ruins at Tulum...excuse my crazy leg pose...trying to get a seaweed off my foot.
This ones for Brad...
The ruins were alive with iguana's...
After drinking from the coconut he cut it for us, dug out the middle and squeezed lime in it.
"You put the lime in the coconut and ate it all up"
After visiting the ruins at Tulum we headed to Vallodolid in Yucatan "state"...not sure if they call them states.
Lorin and Wendy love Yucatan...we swam in a cave like cenote, ate a fried Mexican tostata type thing I cant remember the name of and saw some amazing little towns.
On the way back from swimming in the cenote...
Lorin and Wendy have a tradition of stopping for street venders to get a Mexican HotDog...only if he's wearing a hat!
Just a family thing...luckily this guy was wearing a hat and the hot dog was delicious I am told.
Going to snorkel in the Cenote at our resort!
A Cenote is an underground river that comes above ground and forms a pool of water that drains into the ocean...or something like that. They are all over the area and are life savers when in it 40+ F outside.
Our resort "Hacienda Tres Rios" has 4 cenotes on it...2 which are quite large with rivers we canoe to. A couple time Lorin and Monte snorkeled down the river while Wendy and I guided the canoes. They were a little to slimy for me...I didn't have water shoes and didn't want to stand on logs and rocks covered with slime in bare feet.
Our week in Mexico went amazingly quick...can't wait to build more amazing memories with our amazing friend.

Looks like you had a blast! I'm a little jealous of the coconut, but I'm glad that you got to experience it too.
